Driver training for Large Goods Vehicles (LGV) from C1 7.5t, C Rigid Vehicles and C+E Articulated Vehicles (with trailer). All categories require a provisional entitlement added to your licence.

C1 ANY VEHICLE UP TO 7.5T
To drive a 7.5 Tonne vehicle professionally, you will need to apply for a provisional entitlement and take the Multi-Choice Theory, Hazard Perception and CPC if needed.
You will need to take a training course tailored to your needs and take a driving test.
7.5 Tonne vehicles are often needed by persons wanting to drive a horse box or to become a Paramedic.

C ANY RIGID VEHICLE
To drive a C class (Large Goods Vehicle up to 32 tonne without trailer) you will need to apply for a provisional entitlement and take a Multi-Choice Theory, Hazard Perception test and CPC if needed.
You will then need to take a training course tailored to your needs and take a driving test.

C+E ARTICULATED VEHICLES
To drive a C+E (large goods vehicle with trailer), you will first need to hold a full category C licence which will give you an automatic provisional entitlement for the C+E category.
You do not need to take any further theory test’s. You will only need to take a training course and test.
